Discover My Story

Nicholas “Nick” Hubbell was born in Casper Wyoming and raised in Colorado Springs Colorado. He was blessed with a good family, and many challenges. He was born with cerebral palsy, a condition which hindered his motor skills and left him unable to walk without crutches or a wheelchair. Despite his disability, he grew a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ, and his condition gave him compassion for the weak and overlooked. He always knew he was capable of more and never stopped challenging himself. He took several missions trips to Mexico. These and other experiences deepened his thirst for adventure. They also gave him perspective on deep challenges like prejudice and poverty. Later on he fell in love with the deep spiritual intimacy of small church groups, and gained a new family in a committed home church which he followed from Colorado to Ohio. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of his home church, Nick began a journey of miraculous physical healing. Nick now walks without any assistance. His journey continues, whether he is hosting game nights, painting or playing video games, he is always exploring something new. Nick currently lives in Eastlake Ohio.

Where Nick’s body was limited, his imagination took over. He loved to explore through storytelling. It began with video games, and matured into a love of literature. Nick loves all sorts of fantasy stories and fairy tales. Yet he gained a special affection for the gothic tales of the Victorian Era, with the works of Poe, Shelly, Stoker and Stevenson. With Nick’s first novel, Rotorgeist, he seeks to return to that age. The Grimm Brothers’ haunting legend of Little Red Riding Hood is continued into the dawn of the industrial age, where the beauty and art of the Victorian Age fall under the shifting shadows of an uncertain scientific world. And where dark shapes of the supernatural are always hiding in the corners of restless dreams.
